When did Cornerstone Church start?
- Cornerstone began as a start up church in September 2004 at the YWCA of Central Square in Cambridge. It moved to its current location in Backbay on Newbury Street in July of 2005.
What is Cornerstone's vision?
- We believe every church's mission is to make disciples. So our vision is to "transform lives that will impact the world." It's the Great Commission Jesus gave in Matthew 28.
Is Cornerstone affiliated with a denomination?
- Yes. Cornerstone is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC). For more info about the ECC visit www.covchurch.org.
Where can I park on Sunday?
- Parking is available on Newbury Street, Boylston Street, Berkeley Street, and Clarendon Street just to name a few.
You may park in meter spots (free on Sundays), but please do NOT park in spots that say, 'Back Bay Residents Only.'
Lastly if all else fails, there are a few parking garages around the church where we meet for a Sunday flat rate.
What can I expect on Sunday?
- At Cornerstone, we try our best to make your experience as user-friendly as possible. Our services are contemporary in style.
That means, instead of a choir, our singing is lead by a band with talented and trained musicians.
Our messages are usually about a half hour long and we collect an offering right after as a response.
However, we don't expect visitors and guests to feel obligated to give during that time.
Lastly, our service is always followed with mingling and refreshments. As for dress, most people come casual, but there is no dress code. Hope you'll come by for a visit!
Do you have childcare on Sundays?
- Yes we do! We offer a nursery program for children 0-24 months and have a Children's ministry for children 2 years old and older. When you arrive, please ask an usher to lead you to the children's programs.
